Maa – I am busy

13

Mother – a name/word/definition in itself. Maa, Aayi, Mom, Mummy, Amma you call it in any language any tone it gives you the same relief, same contend feeling. When our body passes through different stages of life, so is the relationship with the mother – she’s a Nurturer when we grow into a human form. A teacher when we start learning lessons of being a better human & socially adaptable. A friend when we develop sense of surroundings, A habit when we seek her presence in every aspect of life and A relation when we start our own new life! JUST A RELATION!

A Relation we keep on the back-burner, as we very well know she’ll always accept us back with open arms and warm smile. How many years have been passed since you have spent Diwali (Indian light festival) with her? She has been wishing you ‘happy birthday beta’ on phone since a long time now, but her wrinkled eyes still await you to come and lay your head in her lap.

As for her, you are always her TOP MOST priority… always even when she has not heard or seen you since months/years, you are still her priority – that’s a heart of a Mother. Even the ‘aarti’ of Maa Shakti says – ‘Putra kaput hue, par na MATA suni KUMATA’, (you can see son being a bad son, but Mom never be a BAD MOM)

But why do we take our aged parents so granted, why do we expect them to be there for us – waiting! Have you ever told your MOM – thanks for whatever she had done so far to bring you up? Have you ever sat with her, held her hands and told her you LOVE her the most unconditionally? We get busy with our mad rat race of proving ourselves, that we miss the most important RELATIONSHIPS of life. While writing this emotional post, I am missing all those small things I shared with my mother back at home. Now, that I myself am a mother, and can feel from motherly angle – I know having an empty nest is the worst kind of feeling! My biggest fear! But as they say life must go on, that’s what we have done and I am sure future generations will also join the scores.

However, we should not forget the ones who made us WHAT WE ARE TODAY – Parents! So, this Mother’s Day just give a visit to your mom; do not get her gifts or presents – just give her little time and share your love with her. If you cannot reach her due to commitments beyond reversal, call her and share your love with her. Make her feel special, just not on ONE day but always. Say I LOVE YOU MOM because you never – ‘if tomorrow never comes, she’l never know how much you loved her
